300th Month

Since we count Shane's age in months, Adam felt like knowing how many months old he is. He was happy to discover that his 25th birthday this year (Feb 28) was also his 300th month.

I made my first layered cake for Adam's birthday. It was devil's food with chocolate fudge frosting. Thank you to Duncan Hines and Pillsbury for the ingredients :D The candle is a special candle: it plays the birthday song. It gave me more confidence when singing Happy Birthday to Adam all by myself. There is something else special about this cake other than the candle.

It is only half a cake :/

When I was trying to transfer one of the layers to my decorating plate from the cooling rack it broke apart and half of it fell on the floor. I was completely distraught and upset that Adam would not have a yummy cake to eat on his birthday. Then Adam came up with the idea to cut all the layers in half and make it taller. It isn't as fabulous as a full cake, but it was still a pretty good idea. So we had half of a three layer cake.

Adam, Shane and I went to a movie to celebrate Adam's birthday. Shane did well. He was transfixed by the movie until the very end when he was exhausted. We also splurged and went out to Burger King for dinner. It was a treat for us since we never go out to eat.
