Growing Up

Shane is 11months old! Just one month to go before he is a full year.

Shane's favorite things:
-Moving. Shane's becoming quite the energetic little boy these days. He is constantly on the move whether it's crawling around the house, climbing up the stairs, or walking with help. He just doesn't like to sit still anymore.

-Books. Shane loves playing with his books, but most of all he likes to turn the pages and point to the pictures.

-Going outside. No matter where he is in the house, when the door opens, he hears it and comes running. Mostly to watch the cars. I will take him outside to walk with his walker, but as soon as he sees the cars he will sit down and start crawling towards them. He loves to watch them. He looks for them every where we go. Eating grass is his next favorite thing to do outside. He gets really upset when he can't eat the grass or get close to the cars.

-Shane still loves to be tossed all over the place. We've noticed that this will almost always make him laugh. He is finally starting to laugh just a little more often. Tickling him all over with kisses really gets him laughing too.

-Cheerios. He gets excited just to here the rustle of the bag; he'll start jumping in his high chair and squealing with a big smile on his face.

- The bathtub. Anytime he is in the bathroom he will attempt to get in the tub.

-People. He loves when people come to visit or when we go somewhere where there are lots of people. He especially loves other kids.

-Music. Especially singing. He has even started doing a little dancing.

Here are a couple of pictures and video of Shane playing at a local fountain. He was a bit nervous about it at first (hence the lack of smiles), but the second day we went he warmed up to it a lot more. These were our first trip. (Sorry about the orientation of the videos.)

Adam and I are very excited for Shane to continue growing up. He is starting to become more of a little boy. We love the stage he is at, but we are excited for more of his personality to come out, and more words too. I'm excited for him to stop putting everything in his mouth so I can show him things like coloring with crayons. I think Shane is excited to grow up too. He seems to want to be just like the big kids, but he's just not quite there.
