Half Way There

6 Month Stats:
Weight: 17.5 lbs
Height: 27.5 in

Shane's current tricks:
- Sitting up on his own (at least for about 5-10 minutes)
- Rolling from tummy to back and back to tummy
- Reaching for objects
- Grabbing and playing with his feet

We took Shane to the doctor to get his check up and immunizations and learned that he had ear infections in both ears. We had no idea because he wasn't extra fussy or anything. We headed home with antibiotics and a new appointment for his immunizations. Shane decided to test our parenting skills I guess. That night Shane kept waking up every hour screaming. Finally, at about midnight, we gave him some Tylenol and Adam gave him a blessing. He slept well the rest of the night, but the next day was a different story. All day long Shane would erupt in random screams, even if he was in our arms. Every time we laid him down to take a nap he would scream. We tried to let him cry himself to sleep, which he has done a couple of times in the past, but he just kept crying. So he got very little sleep. It really tugged at my heart strings because everything we did didn't help. Thankfully, he was blessed again another night and slept well. This morning he has been like the Shane we know and love, happy! He still has 8 more days of antibiotics. Adam and I are hoping Shane continues to stay happy.

History:
Adam had a ton of ear infections when he was an infant. He had his first set of ear tubes at 7 months old and had them 3-4 more times after that. We are hoping Shane doesn't follow this trend.

We bought these cute cowboy boots at Salvation Army. They are actually a size 7, but we loved them so much we had to have him try them on.

We started feeding Shane rice cereal last week. Now that he is 6 months our pediatrician gave us the go ahead to give Shane fruits and veggies. Below is a slideshow of Shane's first experience with Bananas. After awhile Shane learned that if he didn't open his mouth then he wouldn't get mush shoved into it.
